Welcome to the Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner Residency Application!

We are now accepting applications for November 1st start date.
We interview top applicants in early to mid May.
We accept applicants who will be certified as Family Nurse Practitioners and Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioners.


Application Requirements:

  • Current Curriculum vitae Personal statement
  • Official NP program transcript (sent directly from program)
  • GPA of 3.5 or above Minimum of two years nursing experience
  • Three letters of recommendation, including one from NP program director (on institutional letterhead, sent directly by the writers)
  • Application fee of $40 (payable to Emergency Department, NYPH - Weill Cornell Medical Center or link in application)

Requirements to Enter Residency (Initial Hospital Credentialing):

  • Degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program
  • Current Nurse Practitioner board certification
  • Current New York State license
  • Active DEA number
  • ACLS, PALS, and BLS certification
  • ATLS certification (may be obtained after orientation week)
  • New York State certifications in Infection Control and Reporting Child Abuse

 ** Of note, you can apply to our program prior to taking your boards or completing your NP program. Although, please take into account that hospital credentialing takes a minimum of 3 months and must be completed a month prior to November 1st start date.
